February 26, Pozirk. An unmanned aerial vehicle, presumably a Russian Shahed-136 drone capable of carrying about 50 kg of explosives, has been spotted over Homiel at around 9.30 a.m., Flagshtok reports.

A Telegram channel, linked to the ideology department of the Homiel regional authorities urged residents to “remain calm” and prioritize their safety.

“It is important not to touch the downed drone or approach it. If possible, cordon off the crash site and prevent others from going near it,” the message said, reminding that “any filming or publication of photos and videos showing military equipment, personnel or facilities in Belarus is prohibited and will be regarded as a threat to national security.”

Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in 2025, Russia deployed a system of relay antennas in Belarus to controlling attack drones and boost the Russian army’s capabilities to strike northern Ukraine.

Andrej Łukjanovič, commander of Belarus’ Air/Air Defense Forces, said earlier this month that Belarusian troops regularly use aircraft and surface-to-air missile systems to destroy drones that enter the country’s airspace.
