New Zealand sanctions Belarus’ defense company Alevkurp

February 20, Pozirk. New Zealand will impose sanctions on the Belarusian defense company Alevkurp on February 21, says an updated sanctions list published by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The company, specializing in designing, manufacturing and designing radar systems, is associated with the Belarusian government or the military, it noted.
The entity has operated under the authority of the Belarusian State Defense Industry Committee since 2007, according to its website, alevkup.by.
Alaksandar Łukašenka, Belarusian top defense officials and Security Council chief Alaksandar Valfovič are on New Zealand’s sanctions list for supporting Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Last year, New Zealand expanded its sanctions to the Belarusian oil and petrochemical giant Biełnaftachim and Naftan oil refinery over their alleged involvement in illegal trade in Russian oil.
Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja visited New Zealand in November 2025 to promote sanctions on Minsk and push for holding Łukašenka and his officials accountable for supporting Russia’s war on Ukraine.
