Biełstat reports 2025 inflation at 6.8 percent, above 5 percent target

January 13, Pozirk. Belarus saw a 0.3-percent rise in consumer prices in December, the National Statistical Committee (Biełstat) reports.
Food prices rose by 0.4 percent, while non-food prices and services climbed by 0.2 and 0.3 percent, respectively.
The government was expecting inflation to slow down to 5 percent in 2025, yet it stood at 6.8 percent following 5.2 percent reported in 2024.
Compared to December 2024, food prices rose by 9 percent; non-food products, by 3 percent; services, by 8 percent.
This year, inflation is not expected to exceed 7 percent, according to the key economic targets for 2026 that Alaksandar Łukašenka approved last November.
