October 10, Pozirk. Belarus saw a 0.5-percent rise in consumer prices in September, the National Statistical Committee (Biełstat) reports.
Food prices rose by 0.5 percent, while non-food prices and services rose by 0.2 and 0.6 percent, respectively.
Prices have climbed by 5.8 percent since December 2024 and 7.1 percent in the 12 months to September.
Compared to September 2024, food prices increased by 9.8 percent; non-food products, by 2.9 percent; services, by 7.9 percent.
The government was expecting inflation to slow down to 5 percent this year, but officials indicated recently that the target might be unfeasible.
