Tusk: developments in Europe amount to war
October 2, Pozirk. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, speaking at the European Political Community summit in Copenhagen, has said that developments in Europe amount to a war, citing hybrid attacks by Belarus and Russia.
Tusk called on European leaders to get rid of illusions, noting that some of them have called these attacks “full-scale aggression,” “provocation” or “incidents,” but this is a real war, he stressed.
For Poland, the war is not abstract, as it records more than 100 incidents at the border almost daily, including the use of physical violence against soldiers, he said. Vladimir Putin and Alaksandar Łukašenka have organized illegal migration well, and now it is a daily routine for the Poles, he explained.
According to the X page of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, Tusk held a meeting with Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Cichanoŭskaja said on Telegram that she had a brief meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I am glad to see President Zelensky. We support Ukraine and its struggle for freedom and independence, as the fate of Belarus also depends on Ukraine. Thank you, President Zelensky, for your courage and willingness to continue our communication,” Cichanoŭskaja wrote after the meeting.
