Kyiv: Iskander missiles contain more Russian, Belarusian parts

September 9, Pozirk. More Russian and Belarusian-made parts have been found in Iskander 9M727 cruise missiles that Russia is using to attack Ukraine, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s commissioner for sanctions policy, said on Facebook.
Currently, an Iskander missile contains 57 Russian and 5 Belarusian components as well as about 35 American-made parts and one each from Japan, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the official said, citing results of recent tests conducted in Ukraine. A similar missile recently struck Ukraine’s government offices.
Foreign-based manufacturers parts used in Russian missiles include the US-based Texas Instruments, Analog Devices and Altera; College Electronics Ltd (UK), Fujitsu (Japan), Traco Power (Switzerland) and Intehrał (Belarus), Vlasiuk specified.
Ukraine provided all information to its partners for sanctions response, he added.
Earlier this year, the European Union sanctioned Belarus’ chip maker Intehrał for reportedly supplying chips to Russian entities participating in the war against Ukraine.
The US Department of Treasury sanctioned Intehrał for backing the war in February 2022. Sanctions by Japan, Ukraine and the United Kingdom followed later.
