Belarusians collect more than €5,000 for linguist Dulina in nine hours

July 10, Pozirk. A fundraiser for prominent linguist Natalla Dulina, recently released from prison and taken to Lithuania with the help of US diplomats, has collected €5,741 since its launch yesterday, Andrej Strryžak of the BySol solidarity fund has said.
Donations will be used to cover her basic needs in a new country, including rent and dental procedures, as the woman cannot return to Belarus for fear of persecution.
“It is very difficult for me morally, because I have been deprived of my home and any status,” Dulina said. “I have been released, but I have no papers to prove it. . . I cannot receive my pension because I have no documents. I am basically cut off from my former life.”
Another fundraiser for biologist Siarhiej Šeleh, who was released on the same day as Dulina and also taken to Lithuania, raised the required amount in less than 24 hours. However, BySol has so far collected only €2,192 of the €3,100 requested by Kirył Bałachonaŭ from the same group of pardoned prisoners.
They were freed on June 21, with some immediately taken to Lithuania, including opposition activist Siarhiej Cichanoŭski. The release followed a meeting in Minsk between Alaksandar Łukašenka and Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine.
