Economy ministry considers easing regulations for businesses
June 12, Pozirk. The economy ministry has posted for public discussion a draft directive designed to promote private business development. The discussion is open until June 20.
The measures include exempting entities from criminal persecution for certain economic crimes “on special grounds,” reducing authorities’ meddling in business activities and shifting the focus from punishment to prevention.
Amendments would prohibit audits of companies subscribed to a financial and tax monitoring program and repeated audits focusing on the same aspects of business.
Companies would also be given an opportunity to sign agreements with tax and audit agencies to fix irregularities that require significant financial, labor and time costs.
The law enforcement agencies would be given greater flexibility in deciding whether to detain or place suspects under house arrest.
The directive also calls for expanding the document interchange system, giving businesses access to more government procurement orders, removing trade barriers between regions and establishing a legal framework for family businesses.
