Biełstat: consumer prices up 0.7 percent in May

June 10, Pozirk. Belarus saw a 0.7-percent increase in consumer prices in May, the National Statistical Committee (Biełstat) reports.

Food prices rose by 1.2 percent, while non-food prices and services grew by 0.2 and 0.3 percent, respectively.

Prices have climbed by 4.5 percent since late 2024 and 7.1 percent in the 12 month to May.

In the 12 months through May, food prices gained 7.7 percent; non-food products, 3.4 percent; and services, 6.5 percent.

The government is expecting inflation to slow down to 5 percent this year.
