Łukašenka meets head of Myanmar’s military government in Minsk

March 7, Pozirk. Belarus welcomes Myanmar’s decision to be represented at the ambassador level in Minsk, Alaksandar Łukašenka has told Myanmar’s military leader Min Aung Hlaing at their meeting in Minsk, the Belarusian state-run media reported.
Minsk will accredit the Myanmar ambassador serving in Russia, the reports noted.
“We will also move in this direction,” Łukašenka said, stressing a “keen interest” in Myanmar. “You have much of what we need. I think we will be useful to you. I suggest you seriously study Belarus in terms of directions and development of our country [including] industry, agriculture and logistics.”
Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Minsk from Moscow where he met Russian President Vladimir Putin two days ago.
Belarusian officials have been seeking to expand ties with Myanmar lately. The country is under the military rule after a coup in early 2021, followed by civil war that has claimed thousands of lives.
