Biełaruski Hajun reports data breach

February 5, Pozirk. Biełaruski Hajun, an opposition group monitoring military activity in Belarus, has reported a data breach.
“We do not know what data could have been exported while an unauthorized account had access,” the group’s founder Anton Matolka has said, admitting his security failure. “Currently, all critical vulnerabilities are fixed, but I realize that, unfortunately, we could not fully protect people.”
The blogger warned those who shared information with the group about potential persecution in Belarus.
Telegram channels linked to Belarusian law enforcers have already posted screenshots of Matolka’s correspondence with a person, who probably had access to the chatbot.
Biełaruski Hajun was established in early 2022 to monitor the military activity of Russian troops in Belarus and help the Ukrainians assess threats. Russia launched a full-scale war on Ukraine in February 2022.
Belarusian authorities accused Matolka of high treason, conspiracy to overthrow the government, extremism and 11 other crimes.
