Military-patriotic education covers thousands of children – ministry

November 20, Pozirk. Belarusian schools run 155 military-patriotic classes, said Uładzimir Ihnacik, department head at the Ministry of Defense.
From year to year, the ministry is increasing its efforts to launch such classes, he told reporters in Minsk. The same goes for military-patriotic clubs: “There are 62.” He said more than 1,700 students are receiving this training.
On top of that, Belarus held 134 bootcamps for more than 14,000 students this year, he added.
The authorities stepped up the indoctrination of children the presidential election of 2020.
For example, the defense ministry is raising donations for a National Center for Patriotic Education to be constructed at the Brest Fortress.
On June 16, Education Minister Andrej Ivaniec said patriotic education begins in kindergarten.
Leanid Kasinski, the defense minister’s aide for ideology, said in December 2023 that patriotic education should involve the whole population. More than 1,500 children are trained at 42 military-patriotic clubs launched by the Belarusian military, he said.
