Balloon with contraband Belarusian cigarettes falls at Vilnius airport

September 29, Pozirk. A small, uncontrolled balloon carrying contraband Belarusian cigarettes fell in the territory of the Vilnius Airport, lrt.lt reported.
Lithuanian MP Dainius Gaižauskas said on Facebook that the weather balloon carried a 20-kg load.
It turns out that hundreds of balloons have been smuggling cargoes from Belarus to Lithuania for a year, he said. One balloon can carry about 1,000 cigarette packs, he added.
Vilnius police spokesperson Loreta Kairienė told BNS that, according to preliminary information, a hot air balloon burst over the airport and a box fell onto the territory. It was wrapped in black packaging covering Minsk cigarette packs.
