German diplomat Andrea Wiktorin back to work in Minsk

September 6, Pozirk. Andrea Wiktorin, former head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus (2009–2013), is back to diplomatic work in the Belarusian capital as German’s chargé d’affaires, the German Embassy said.
Prior to the appointment, Wiktorin headed the EU Delegation to Armenia, where she had served as German ambassador.
She also served as ambassador to Latvia, and worked at The Hague.
The embassy in Minsk presented Wiktorin as an experienced diplomat and a person fond of Belarus and its people.
Like her predecessor, she will work to strengthen the Belarusian-German friendship, the diplomatic mission said.
Hungary is the only EU country whose ambassador presented credentials to Alaksandar Łukašenka after the 2020 disputed presidential election.
The other countries have downgraded their representation to chargés d’affaires.
