State TV reports arrest of Japanese spy

September 4, Pozirk. Belarus, for the first time in its history, has thwarted a Japanese covert operation, the state Agency of Television News (ATN) said on Telegram.
Officers apprehended a Japanese national whose interests ranged from the socio-political situation in Belarus and the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative to developments at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border and military infrastructure.
The man allegedly operated in Homiel.
ATN showed the detainee, who introduced himself as Nakamisi Masatusi (as received).
He said that his activities could be “dangerous” for Belarus, and that the country could be hit by a missile.
Tomorrow evening, Belarus 1 will broadcast a report “Failure of ‘Samurai’ from Tokyo.”
One more foreigner convicted of espionage – Viasna
